In December 2019 Northern Offshore Group (NOG), owner of Northern Offshore Services (N-O-S) and NYK Line (NYK) signed an MoU for the cooperation, development and operation of CTV’s for the Japanese Offshore Wind Industry.
As a part of the MoU N-O-S will now welcome NYK engineers to Europe to exchange knowledge about the operations and ship management in order to prepare for the development of CTV’s in Japan.
Both companies are working to contribute to the achievements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have clear strategies to incorporate these into the business activities.
The NOS developed hybrid CTV Energizer is owned by NYK and will be chartered by N-O-S for a 10-year bareboat charter. The vessel is currently under construction and will be delivered during q3 2021. When the vessel is delivered it will be operated by N-O-S and work in the Northern Europe.
“We are pleased that NYK is interested in learning more about the European Offshore Wind Industry and want to learn from us. The cooperation is beneficial for both our companies and I believe we will achieve great things in the future, both when it comes to developing and operating CTV’s in Japan but also developing a sustainable green energy business chain. We are happy to welcome NYK personnel to our team”, says David Kristensson, Group CEO of Northern Offshore Group
